Porsches electric performance just made waves-literally. The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom, a sleek electric day cruiser developed in partnership with Austrian boat builder Frauscher, has set a new benchmark in sustainable maritime innovation. At the 12th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, the 850 Fantom clocked an average speed of 49.84 knots (92.3 km/h), smashing the events previous speed record. Competing in the Open Sea class, the production-standard boat proved its prowess against international contenders, all while showcasing its clean, emission-free propulsion. Inspired by the drive system of the fully electric Porsche Macan Turbo, the 850 Fantom combines Porsches cutting-edge E-Performance with Frauschers expertise in boat design. Finished in Porsches Oakgreen Metallic Neo and sporting a closed foredeck, the boat caught the attention of both fans and royalty-Prince Albert II of Monaco received a personal tour from Stefan Frauscher himself. "This success highlights the technical innovation of our project and the potential of electric propulsion in the maritime sector," said Stefan Frauscher, Managing Director at Frauscher Bootswerft.
